The Search Term Frequency Report in Analytics is a great way for brands to understand how experts find your brand or products on ExpertVoice.
This report shows what search terms experts entered in the ExpertVoice search bar that resulted in clicks on your brand or products. The report displays two (2) views; the search term bar graph allows you to view the number of searches resulting in each term used, whereas the Search Terms by Week line graph shows the number of searches weekly.
How to access the report in the AP
- Visit Analytics in the Advocacy Platform
- Navigate to the dashboard you’d like to add it to
- Then click Add Reports to Dashboard
- Click Search Term Frequency and then drag and drop it to your preferred analytics dashboard

Insert a unique name for your new report
- 255 characters maximum
- Default text: Search Term Frequency
- Click the name to explore the report
Layout
The horizontal axis at the bottom of the chart represents the number of searches, and the vertical axis to the left lists the specific search terms used.
You can filter the report by a specific search term, search device (Android app, IOS app, or Web Browser), relative search date, and custom date. See the filters section for more information about the available filters. Click Save Report to save your filters.
Below the bar chart is a line graph allowing you to view each search term's weekly activity. The horizontal axis at the bottom of the graph represents the selected custom search date, and the vertical axis to the left represents the number of searches by week. Selecting a term from the upper bar chart will change the line graph (by week) to analyze specific terms.
In your Analytics dashboard, click the three dots on the right of the report to either explore the report, rename, duplicate, or remove it from your dashboard or view the report description.
Filters
Use the filters at the right of the report to focus on specific status characteristics or narrow your view. You can select one or more filters to customize your report.
Search Term

Unique Search Term – The specific terms that experts are entering
Search Device

All – Android App, iOS App, and Web Browser

Android App – Expert members access ExpertVoice.com using the Android app

iOS App – Expert members access ExpertVoice.com using the Apple iOS app

Web Browser – Expert members access the Expertvoice.com URL and not a mobile app
Relative Activity Date - Use the Relative Purchase Date filter to view the data by years, quarters, months, weeks, or days
Custom Activity Date - Use the Custom Purchase Date slider bar to select the date range for which you want to view the data. Click the date above the slider bar to open the calendar view and select a start and end date from which you want to view the data.
Examine and visualize the data
Here are a few best practices that could impact a brand's results in the Search Term Frequency Report:
- New product launches – Consider updating your brand's search phrases when launching a new product.
- Seasonality – Use the Search Term Frequency report to compare to sales and determine seasonality
- Search Phrase and Product Display Page Strategy - If you are not seeing terms appear in this report that should, consider adding the missing terms to your brand's search phrases and/or including them terms on your Product Display Pages.
Note: Hover your cursor over the bar chart and click a specific search term to view a summary of stats on that term

Below the report, click Subscribe to receive an email to this report. You can customize who it's sent to, the email frequency, format, and more.
Download the report
Below the report, click Download to download the data as an image, CSV file, PDF, or Tableau workbook.
TIP: Please contact your Customer Success partner to audit your report if any metric appears incorrect.
