Survey campaigns are a powerful way to gather expert feedback about your brand, products and positioning. By asking the right questions to the right audience, you can gain insights that support product development, marketing and more. Below is an overview of how survey campaigns work and how to make the most of them.
Access to features within Campaigns varies based on your subscription. To request access to additional features, reach out to your Customer Success partner for more information.
How survey campaigns work
Survey campaigns appear in the ExpertVoice news feed and/or on your brand page to collect insights from targeted expert audiences. All questions are optional for the expert to answer.
You can:
-
Ask up to 10 questions per campaign
-
Collect a minimum of 250 responses (recommended)
-
Set your target audience using the Audience Builder
-
Access full response data and insights in your dashboard
Setting up your survey
In Campaign Manager:
-
Create a new campaign and choose Survey as the campaign type
-
Define your expert audience and targeting filters
-
Build your survey using a mix of question types
-
Set a start and end date, or specify a target response count
-
Launch your survey to start collecting insights
Pro tip: We recommend running surveys for at least 4 weeks to gather enough responses for statistical significance.

Setting campaign availability
All survey campaigns must include either an end date and/or a response limit. For best results, configure both:
-
End date: Set a closing date for your campaign
-
Response limit: Set the maximum number of responses you want to collect
Once either condition is met, your campaign will automatically end and be removed from your brand page.
You can extend a campaign if needed. Update the end date and re-submit for review if you'd like to feature it in the ExpertVoice feed again.
Want to receive a heads-up when the survey ends? Under Contact info, add one or more email addresses (separated by commas) to receive notifications once the survey wraps.
Promote your survey
If you want to invite experts to participate directly, you can share your campaign’s unique link. All participants must have an ExpertVoice account to complete the survey.
Monitor and export results
After you publish your campaign, check in regularly to see how it's performing. The insights you collect may be useful to your R&D, marketing, or social media teams.
In the Results tab:
-
View a bar graph showing how many submissions you’ve received vs. your response limit
-
Click Export data to download all results and share them across your team
-
For open text and multiple choice questions, click View all responses to see detailed feedback
-
For NPS questions, click Show breakdown of responses to view ratings 1–10

Pro tip: Check for incomplete or irrelevant answers to clean up your dataset before sharing.
Use cases and best practices
Brands use survey campaigns for a range of strategic insights. Here are a few examples:
-
Early product research: Inform product positioning or messaging pre-launch
-
Post-launch feedback: Understand how your product is being used during peak season
-
Competitive insights: Learn how your brand stacks up against others in the industry
Pro tip: Talk with your Account Executive about survey goals and timelines before building your campaign.
