Overview
Inventory management is critical to a brand's e-commerce experience. By following inventory management best practices, you’ll run and manage an efficient and effective program and achieve your product seeding goals. We recommend uploading inventory at a minimum once per week. Some clients send inventory data multiple times each day to ensure the experts' shopping experience on ExpertVoice have access to buy products that are up-to-date and in stock. As an ExpertVoice partner with a hosted store, you have 3 options for keeping your inventory up to date.
Note: In-stock levels should be kept at least 75% or higher to avoid high OOS requests
Note: This article applies to brand users who have the Order Fulfillment Manager role. Reach out to your Customer Success partner for more information.
EDI inventory overview
Manage your inventory on ExpertVoice with ease. An EDI integration is the most efficient option to maintain your inventory. ExpertVoice uses an 846 document to accept files via EDI. As part of the setup, we will fully test the integration to ensure the data we are receiving aligns with the inventory that you have available.
FTP inventory overview
Another recommended method for managing your ExpertVoice inventory is through a scripted file transfer. ExpertVoice can accept a CSV file that is sent to our FTP server which contains a minimum of EV-provided code, SKU/UPC, and quantity available. The file is consumed and updated on the site after 15-30 minutes. For Shopify clients, the EZ Exporter plug-in is a great option.
Admin inventory overview
The most basic and common option used by brands who partner with ExpertVoice is managing their inventory on ExpertVoice directly through the ExpertVoice Admin. This option requires a brand user to log in to the ExpertVoice admin and upload a CSV file that contains an EV-provided code, SKU/UPC, and quantity available. ExpertVoice then processes the CSV file and inventory is updated live on the site in 15-30 minutes.
