About ExpertVoice Incentives
Experts are hungry to experience your latest product innovations and technologies. An incentive is how to reward specific audiences and get products into their hands. Example incentives include:
- 50% off the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)
- Up to 50% off MSRP + Free Shipping on $50 and up
- Gratis product
- Gift with purchase
- $20 gift card
- Friends and family purchasing
Incentives are used in the following campaign types:
- Education and Seeding Campaigns: Educate experts about your latest products and reward those who pass your lessons (e.g., % off MSRP, free shipping).
- Seeding Campaigns: Provide experts access to an exclusive discount for your products without requiring education to unlock the reward.
- Activity Campaigns: Provide experts access to an exclusive reward after they complete your required activity.
How to create custom incentives
When you partner with ExpertVoice, you can create custom incentives using a combination of managed services from our Studios team and guided-service features in the Advocacy Platform. ExpertVoice Studios can create incentives for you, or you can create incentives on your own in the Incentive Library of the Advocacy Platform.
When determining your incentive-creation strategy, consider this critical question – do you have the time and resources to create an incentive on your own?
Creating an incentive on your own
If you prefer to create an incentive with guided support from your Customer Success Partner, visit the Incentive Library in the Advocacy Platform and reference this support article for more information.
Working with ExpertVoice to produce incentives
If you'd like, you can work with ExpertVoice Studios to create a custom incentive tied to a store for you. Learn more about the different types of stores you can setup below:
Note: If you need Studios' support, please contact your Customer Success partner at least three weeks in advance of when you would like your campaign to go live.
After you approve the incentive that ExpertVoice Studios creates, your Project Manager will add the incentive to your brand's Incentive Library in the Advocacy Platform. The incentive can then be added to specific campaigns that you or ExpertVoice Studios create moving forward.
For any incentive that ExpertVoice Studios creates, you can preview what the incentive will look like on ExpertVoice from the Advocacy Platform by clicking View Rules & Guidelines; you cannot edit any incentive on your own in the Advocacy Platform that was previously created by ExpertVoice Studios.
Managing incentives in a campaign
Every Seeding Campaign requires an incentive. Any time you create a new Seeding Campaign, you should create a new incentive unique to the campaign. Incentives are optional for Activity Campaigns.
An incentive be edited, added, replaced, or removed from specific campaigns at any time.
Managing incentives in the Incentive Library
The Incentive Library in Libraries is a collection of incentives you or ExpertVoice Studios create for your campaigns.
In the Incentive Library, you can:
- Create new incentives
- Edit saved incentives
- Duplicate incentives
- Open the link to the deal
- View the rules and guidelines (Preview incentives)
- Manage promo codes
- Archive incentives
Note: The ability to create and edit incentives is based on your subscription level. Not all features (such as duplicating) are available for ExpertVoice Studios' produced incentives.
How to access incentives
A saved incentive is one that either you or ExpertVoice Studios have previously created. You can access your saved incentives anytime in the Incentive Library with the step-by-step instructions below.
- Log in to the Advocacy Platform and visit the Incentive Library in Libraries
- Search or filter to find a saved incentive
Incentives can also be created in the Incentive Library or while creating Seeding Campaigns.
Click on the incentive tile to edit the incentive, or click the three dots on the right side of the incentive for additional options.
For incentives that you create and save in the Advocacy Platform, you can select to Edit, Duplicate, Open link to deal, View rules & guidelines, Manage promo codes or Archive them. For other incentives, such as those created by ExpertVoice Studios, you will only be able to View rules & guidelines or Archive them.
How to preview an incentive from the Incentive Library
Incentives can be fully previewed on ExpertVoice. Follow these step-by-step instructions to preview an incentive.
- Log in to the Advocacy Platform and visit the Incentive Library in Libraries
- Search or filter to find the incentive you want to preview
- Click on the incentive name or click the three dots on the right side of the incentive to expand the drop-down menu of options.
- Click View rules & guidelines, and the incentive preview will appear on the page.
How to edit an incentive from the Incentive Library
If you want to tweak an incentive slightly that you created for a campaign that is either currently running or not running, follow these step-by-step instructions.
- Log in to the Advocacy Platform and visit the Incentive Library in Libraries
- Search or filter to find the incentive you want to edit
- Click on the incentive name or click the three dots on the right side of the incentive to expand the drop-down menu of options to Edit
If an incentive is currently used in a campaign, you'll get a popup notification indicating which campaign. Editing the incentive will apply the changes to that campaign.
If you would rather duplicate the incentive rather than edit an existing one, select Duplicate Incentive.
Note: After you make any edits to the incentive and save the edits, your changes automatically update in any campaign that is currently running or not running with this incentive.
How to duplicate an incentive
Duplicating a saved incentive allows you to make a slight change to the incentive without losing the original incentive. This saves you time from having to create a completely new one.
If you want to duplicate an incentive slightly for a campaign that is either currently running or not running, follow these step-by-step instructions.
- Log in to the Advocacy Platform and visit the Incentive Library in Libraries
- Search or filter to find the incentive you want to duplicate
- Click the three dots on the right side of the incentive to expand the drop-down menu of options to Duplicate
- Provide a new incentive name to describe the duplicate incentive. This name is not expert-facing
- Continue to edit the duplicated incentive
How to archive or unarchive an incentive
It's important to regularly audit your list of Current Incentives to ensure incentives still meet your company goals and broader advocacy marketing program objectives. If an incentive is not relevant or outdated, you can archive it. You cannot delete an incentive.
- Log in to the Advocacy Platform and visit the Incentive Library in Libraries
- Search or filter to find the incentive you want to archive
- Click the three dots on the right side of the incentive to expand the drop-down menu of options to Archive
Archiving removes the incentive from your view in the Current Incentives tab and puts it in the Archived Incentives tab in case you ever need it again.
An archived incentive cannot be edited, duplicated, or used in a campaign. It must be unarchived to perform those actions.
How to unarchive an incentive
If a previously archived incentive is relevant to you again, you can unarchive it. The unarchive action means you will extract a previously archived incentive from the digital archive.
To unarchive an incentive:
- Log in to the Advocacy Platform and visit the Incentive Library in Libraries
- Select the Archived Incentives tab
- Search or filter to find the incentive you want to archive
- Click the three dots on the right side of the incentive to expand the drop-down menu of options to Unarchive
