Overview
The product catalog allows brands with a redirect store on ExpertVoice to host product information on ExpertVoice. This allows experts to access information about your products prior to being redirected over to your brand's e-commerce site to purchase and provides them the opportunity to leave product recommendations for your products on ExpertVoice (they will live on the product pages). All products that your brand wants available to experts on the site will need to be included in the product catalog.
Setting up a product catalog on ExpertVoice for your redirect store and keeping it up to date can have an immediate impact on conversion.
When you need to add, remove, or edit products, this is done via the product catalog. Reach out to your Customer Success Partner for your most up-to-date product catalog to get started.
Note: If you are currently set up with Shopify, ExpertVoice has a direct plug-in with Shopify. Our Comm Ops team is able to pull your product information directly from your website, so you will not need to fill out the product catalog yourself.
Set up your product catalog
- Confirm with your Account Executive and Customer Succes partner that the product catalog is included in your Statement Of Work (SOW)
- Your Customer Succes partner will share the standard format that we use to manage your product details. This excel file contains information like browse category, product code(parent/master SKU), SKUs, UPCs, product name, description, MSRP, product images, etc. Some of these items are required while others are highly encouraged.
- Product images: you can share a media library or dropbox of any type that contains the images and provide the product image name in the excel file. Alternatively, we can also accept the URL of where the product image lives. We can display up to 9 product images per product.
- After receiving the file, the ExpertVoice Comopps team will work back and forth with you to ensure the store is accurate. With your approval, your product catalog will be made live, and visible to your expert base.
Note: Preferred format for setting up your product catalog is noted above. If you are unable to provide information in this format, we can work by pulling data from your website and converting it as necessary.
Note: Be sure to only include products that are available to be purchased at the discounted price in your redirect store.
Update your product catalog
- Confirm with your Account Executive that the product catalog is included in your Statement Of Work (SOW)
- Reach out to your Customer Success Partner and ask for your current product catalog
Pro Tip: It is recommended to review your product catalog every 45-60 days. This ensures that all the information is current and up to date for experts (for example: new products and images, discontinued products, etc.)
- To add or remove products from your catalog, please send the product name and SKU to your Customer Success Partner, and they will work with our Comm Ops team to update
- Once your Customer Success Partner sends over your current catalog to update, please make sure to use the colors below to denote the following actions:
- New products – highlight the entire row in green
- Product removals – highlight the entire row in red
- Edits/Updates for existing products – highlight specific cells changing in yellow
Any new or updated images will need to be provided along with this store file.
Pro Tip: Some brands will send us a link to the product images via dropbox or google drive. When sharing, please be sure to indicate to our team which image corresponds to each SKU/UPC (naming convention of images or specific links/image name being included in column P of the corresponding rows within the updated store file).
